Stoneware・Shino

This round by ceramicist Wang Wen De is a wonderful piece to hold and to use. The curved sides form an oval that fits comfortably into the hand, leading to a precise spout with perfect, near dripless water flow.

This piece is built of exceptionally thin stoneware, then carefully glazed with either light or dark gray shino. The glaze has a beautiful crackle on its surface, which will color and develop a patina with use.

*Please take note that each server can be slightly different in color tone, texture, size, and shape. It is not unusual to have areas of thicker glazing, and or colorations that reflect the different interactions between the mineral content of the clay body and glaze. Each server is different, and may not be identical to the photographed item.
