There are certain places that seem to exist outside of the everyday.
Pockets of time or space folded just so, creating a refuge from the world, an alternative reality, if only temporarily. We designed our San Francisco tea studio to occupy just such a feeling.
Southern exposure brightens the walls of Song Tea throughout the day, casting revolving shadows across shelves of beautifully crafted tea ware, canisters of loose leaf tea, our small collection of records and reference books.
We're not a traditional tea house.
We’re not a traditional tea house. We don’t serve food or shaken drinks (with a occasional exceptions), but are rather a space intended to foster curiosity, community, and craft.
Our regular retail hours, from 12 - 5 pm Thursdays through Sundays - perfect for stocking up on tea or touching and holding our ceramic teapots, gaiwans, and tea trays in real life - are augmented with a rotating assortment of tea tastings and classes, pop-up bakery collaborations, artist receptions, ephemeral fancies, and opportunities for visitors to become more involved in the processes behind the cultivation and craft of tea production. The Song studio, we believe, serves as the backdrop to this mission of hospitality and learning. A place that fosters connections, both brief and enduring, in much the same way as a shared pot of tea.
