Erin's Layered Cups
Erin's Layered Cups
The accompaniment to Erin Louise Clancy’s richly layered Layered Gaiwan, these small sipping cups are decorated with the same depth and intrigue as their tea brewing counterpart.
As the eye moves across the surface of each tasting cup, you’ll find fresh bouquets of red and cobalt slip decals, layered atop loose brushstrokes of earth red under glaze. Below, highlighting these features lies a blanket of white slip, soft and tonal against the richness of the fired clay.
Each piece is individually thrown on the potter's wheel from a mix of dark stoneware clays. Delicately trimmed feet elevate the cup and a gently flared rim follows the natural contours of your lips.
Sold in pairs.
* Please take note that each cup can be slightly different in color tone, texture, size, and shape. It is not unusual to have areas of thicker glazing, and or colorations that reflect the different interactions between the mineral content of the clay body and glaze. Each cup is hand made and unique, and may not be identical to the photographed item. Each will be as beautiful.
Usage and care: Hand-wash only, mild detergent and a soft sponge is ok.
