Erin's Iris Gaiwan
Erin's Iris Gaiwan
Bright, rich layers of hand painted underglaze bring the surface of this stoneware gaiwan to life, vibrant blossoms unfurling atop strokes of dark green like the beards and sepals of an iris.
Porcelain slip provides a brightening backdrop to these saturated colors, complimented with a glossy forest green glaze on the interior of the gaiwan and lid. Each piece feels like a celebration of winter colors, offering a cheering start to any tea brewing session.
At 160ml, this gaiwan offers a wonderful start to a personal tea brewing session, or an intimate experience for two. Pair it with the corresponding Iris Cups, decorated to match.
* Please take note that each gaiwan can be slightly different in color tone, texture, size, and shape. It is not unusual to have areas of thicker glazing, and or colorations that reflect the different interactions between the mineral content of the clay body and glaze. Each gaiwan is hand made and unique, and may not be identical to the photographed item. Each will be as beautiful.
Usage and care: Glazed pots are suitable for all tea types. Simply rinse, or hand wash gently between uses. Mild detergent and a soft sponge are ok.
