Steamed Bao Server
Steamed Bao Server
Stoneware・Celadon
This delightful new series from artist Liao Guo Hua features both a server and teapot for a full tea service, and is a stunning example of the artist’s skills in simplicity and restraint.
Perfectly proportioned and weighted in the hand, this stoneware server is a pleasure to use. The gently curved spout is practically dripless, and the collared neck protects your fingers from excess heat while pouring. The body of the pot is soft and uniform, featuring a creamy white celadon that is broken in places by “beauty spots”- small freckles that rise to the surface of the glaze from the iron-rich clay body. The subtle crazing will become more pronounced through repeated use, creating a pot that is alive and dynamic, mirroring your own tea practice.
Usage and care: Glazed both inside and out, these teapots are suitable for use with all tea types. Simply rinse between uses, or hand wash with a mild detergent.
*Please take note that each server can be slightly different in color tone, texture, size, and shape. It is not unusual to have areas of thicker glazing, and or colorations that reflect the different interactions between the mineral content of the clay body and glaze. Each server is hand made and unique, and may not be identical to the photographed item.
