Snow Pear
Snow Pear
This tea cup from ceramicist Zhang Yun Cheng is hand thrown on the potter’s wheel and fired in a gas reduction kiln. A soft pale green glaze covers this piece, and the subtlest freckles of iron oxide peek through the luminous surface. Gently bell-shaped, the lip of the bowl is tapered, creating a start line again the round form. A dramatically trimmed foot cuts in at the base, unglazed and contrasting again the soft surface of the cup.
This cup is one of a kind.
Usage and care: To wash, simply rinse between uses or hand scrub with mild detergent.
