Sea Change
Sea Change
This dramatic collection of teapots from Taiwanese potter Zhang Yun Cheng brings to mind treasures exposed by the tides. Thickly textured shino glaze rises and recedes across the form, shimmering like the interior of a polished shell. The organic, weather worn look of traditional wood firing enunciates these beach combing qualities. The path of flame and ash throughout the kiln lends each piece an unpredictability, not unlike a sea change wrought across eras and fathomless depths.
Pictured is one in a series. Slight variations are possible from piece to piece, a hallmark of hand-made wood-fired pottery. Please note that while we cannot guarantee that the one we ship is exactly as pictured, what you will receive will be as beautiful.
Usage and care: The interior of each pot is glazed, and may be used with all tea types. To wash, simply rinse between uses or hand scrub with mild detergent.
