Hand-formed・Duan ni (fortified clay)・250ml
The traditional curves and lines of this tea pot were shaped by hand, built from slabs of "duan ni" - a fortified clay - that were then cut, joined and finished. The symmetry between the top and bottom halves of this tea pot is remarkable, and come together to form a comfortable drum shape that is reminiscent of a traditional Fang Gu pot. This tea is optimal for oolongs, reds and aged teas.
Artist chop is stamped on the bottom, underside of the lid, and handle. Ten outlets arranged in an elongated hexagonal pattern allows for quick drainage. Series of six pieces by ceramicist Huang Ya Ping.
Usage and care: Thoroughly rinse particles of sand from the interior before use. Dedicate one tea type per pot. Eventually, a tea pot will be seasoned with the particular character of a tea. Hand-wash only without soap or detergent.
