A striking kyushu from Taiwanese potter, Liao Guo Hua, this pot is made in two parts - first thrown from a stoneware clay body and fired in the artist’s wood kiln, then attached to a hand formed bronze handle, chased with a hare’s fur texture and oxidized for depth and contrast.
The result is an entirely unique piece in the artist’s collection, and a pinnacle of LGH’s penchant for pairing two incongruous style that strike harmony and visual tension in a single work.
Inside the pot, you’ll find a honeycombed filter, providing a natural sieve for the leaves, and eliminate the need for strainers and tea bags. Quick, dripless, evacuation, and balance are additional hallmarks of the artist’s work; a mastery decades in the making.
Usage and care: This teapot features an unglazed interior, but is suitable for use with all tea types. Simply rinse between uses or hand-wash with mild detergent. Dry handle promptly after washing.
