Hand-formed・Zi ni (purple clay)・220ml
This round teapot was made using a Huang Long Shan “zi ni” or purple clay. Its Chinese name translates to mean “nightshade”, and indeed, the pot is shaped - and has the color - of a black krim tomato, but with a lid finial of an eggplant stem.
Artist chop is stamped on the bottom, underside of the lid, and the handle. Seven outlets arranged in a hexagonal pattern allow for quick drainage. Limited series of five pieces.
Usage and care: Thoroughly rinse particles of sand from the interior before use. Dedicate one tea type per pot. Eventually, a tea pot will be seasoned with the particular character of a tea. Hand-wash only without soap or detergent.
