Hand-thrown porcelain・Glazed interior・170ml

This is a hand-thrown porcelain gaiwan, or lidded bowl. After a visit to Lilith Rockett's studio, we commissioned a round of these vessels two years ago, but always sold out before we could place them in our web store.

The interior of the vessel has a smooth clear glaze that accommodates a range of different teas. The exterior is unglazed and buffed by hand to an exceedingly smooth, satiny finish. Each gaiwan includes a base plate, bowl, and lid. Artist signature is scribed on the base. Because these gaiwans are hand-made, they vary slightly in size, shape, and capacity.

Usage and care: The unglaze exterior will season with use. We prefer the character that each takes on, but staining can easily be removed with non-toxic stain remover. Hand-wash only with mild detergent. Rinse well.
