Stoneware・Hand-painted
The accompaniment to Erin Louise Clancy’s joyful Winter Gaiwans, these small sipping cups are decorated with the same whimsical jubilance. Colors erupt across the surface of the cups, awash with strokes of blues, yellows, greens, and reds.
Inside each cup a simple layer of white slip serves as a fresh canvas for your tea, be it a ruby red oolong, or the light, bright green of a winter Lishan.
Each cup is individually thrown on the potter's wheel from gingerbread-hued stoneware clay. Delicately trimmed feet elevate the vessel, and a gently flared rim follows the natural contours of your lips.
* Please take note that each cup can be slightly different in color tone, texture, size, and shape. It is not unusual to have areas of thicker glazing, and or colorations that reflect the different interactions between the mineral content of the clay body and glaze. Each cup is hand made and unique, and may not be identical to the photographed item.
Usage and care: Hand-wash only, mild detergent and a soft sponge is ok.
