Taiwanese potter, Zhang Hao Yan is a master of this form, each bowl gently curved and sized to hold close. Creamy plums and rutile dance alongside iron-rich umbers and blacks across the crystalline surface of this wood fired piece. With spacious interiors, Zhang’s tea bowls are ideally proportioned for whisking fresh matcha, creating further contrasts in color between the bright green of the powdered tea and the nebulous black glazes.
