Cobalt Server, One
Cobalt Server, One
Stoneware・Shino・Cobalt・Wood-fired
A sister vessel to the Cherry Blossom teapots, bowls, and sipping cups from Liao Guo Hua, this server is glazed with the same soft, creamy shino, and marked with strokes of plum chun and cobalt oxides. Coupled with the darkly hewn stoneware base, the result is a surface that is at once naive and serious.
Liao Guo Hua is the master of this visual tension, his work walks a tightrope between dualities. Hard and soft, glazed and raw, geometric and organic. We use these servers daily in our gong fu-style tea preparation. After decanting tea from pot to pourer, steeping is halted and the precision of timed brewing can be enjoyed over multiple cups, or shared between friends.
Usage and care: This interior-glazed server is suitable for use with all tea types. Simply rinse between uses or hand-wash with mild detergent.
