Zhang Hao Yan’s tiny teapots are perfectly proportioned for this style of tea making. The thinnest application of pale grey glaze covers the surface of this piece, pooling places for a mottled effect that demands further investigation. Running one’s fingers over the form reveals a light, sandy texture from stoneware clay body and an elegant symmetry to the piece, evidence of the artist’s mastery of the potter’s wheel.
