Glazed stoneware・Wood-fired

From Liao Guo Hua’s personal archive come sixteen masterful teapots that together chart the breadth and variation of two decades of atmospheric firings in the artist’s remote wood kiln.

The sole white pot in this collection, this glaze seems to shine like marble in a sea of cast bronze. Spout, lid, and handle, reach out in expressive gestures, an elegant arm, or curved hip, rising from stone. Specks of iron from the clay body rise to the surface of the pot, a constellation of freckles on smooth skin. A tightly fitting lid, glazed interior, and honeycombed filter beneath the spout allow for quick, clean pouring.

With use, oils from tea will create a deepened color and luster on this pot's glazed surface. Signed by the artist.

Usage and care: This teapot is suit able for use with all tea types. Simply rinse between uses, or hand-wash without soap or detergent.
