Hand-formed・Wood-fired unglazed stoneware・180ml
Hand-formed wood-fired pot. The front and bottom of the teapot has the appearance of burnished aged iron, with a distinctive hint of plum. The backside of the pot is dramatic, with thick layers of vitrified fly ash reminiscent of backdrops of a centuries old flemish oil painting.
This small pot is a more modern rendition of a classic xishi pot, with a flat, beveled lid, and a simple, modern spout.
Unglazed stoneware, using a blend of Taiwanese and Japanese clay, then fired in a wood-burning kiln for five days. This pot was pre-seasoned by the artist.
Usage and care: Hand-wash with water only.
Approximate dimensions: 78mm tall, 75mm diameter
