Glazed stoneware・5 day wood-fired
Liao Guo Hua’s Ash teapots are crafted from an oxide-rich American clay, then partially coated in black glaze. Vitrified fly ash on the top surfaces of these teapots add dimension and contrast. Each is hand-formed, and fired in a wood-kiln for 5 days.
This particular teapot has a thick layering of ask on the top and side, with a pale gray running drip of to the right of the spout. The interior is glazed. The pot body is rounded - with a slight tapered bottom. A round finial graces the lid.
Usage and care: Hand-wash with water only.
Approximate dimensions: 75mm tall, 70mm diameter, 140ml capacity・Artist: 廖國華
