A Pair of Mid Century Cups
A Pair of Mid Century Cups
Porcelain・Hand-painted・Gold lustre
Midcentury design reflected the growing interconnectedness of the world, with inspiration pulled from traditions in every corner of the earth. Popular among these was the influence of Asian art and culture, with attention to minimal forms, and careful craftsmanship chief features of the movement.
Our latest collaboration is an homage to this era of design. In color, form, and texture they play perfectly alongside your Nakashima dining table or Wassily armchair, and would be right at home at Falling Water. In function, they are the foundation for the perfect cup of tea.
This series is complimented by porcelain gaiwans, glazed to match.
* Please take note that each cup can be slightly different in color tone, texture, size, and shape. It is not unusual to have areas of thicker glazing, and or colorations that reflect the different interactions between the mineral content of the clay body and glaze. Each cup is hand made and unique, and may not be identical to the photographed item.
Usage and care: Hand-wash only, mild detergent and a soft sponge is ok. Avoid abrasive material or cleansers on the lustre.
