Hand-thrown porcelain・Glazed interior
This hand-thrown porcelain shiboridashi is a special commission from Lilith Rockett’s studio. The interior of the vessel has a smooth clear glaze that accommodates a range of different teas. The exterior is unglazed and buffed by hand to an exceedingly smooth, satiny finish.
The shiboridashi is a gaiwan variant. Unlike a gaiwan, it has a spouted opening that allows for a quicker and more accurate pour.
This is a very limited run. We have fewer than 10. Please take note that shiboridashis are each hand-made, and can vary slightly in size and shape.
Usage and care: The unglazed exterior will season with use. We prefer the character that each takes on, but staining can easily be removed with non-toxic stain remover. Hand-wash only with mild detergent. Rinse well.
Approximate dimensions: 80mm tall, 90mm diameter. Artist: Lilith Rockett
