There is a lovely sense of movement to this tea bowl by Taiwanese artist, Liao Guo Hua, both in the undulation of the rim and rise of the body, and in the downward momentum of the glaze.
Snowy crystals dapple the surface of the pot, covering a larger field of glassy greens and grays. Darks flecks rise to the surface, evidence of iron minerals embedded in the clay body. The glaze breaks darker over the rim, culminating in a swirling motion at the bottom of the bowl.
