The Thin Scoop
The Thin Scoop
Stoneware・Shino
Wang Wen De is a master of visual tension. Throughout his work, soft lines play against geometry, and ethereality pairs with gravity. In the artist’s series of stoneware tea scoops, this contrast is achieved through the striking angles of the each piece, sharp lines belied by the soft tones and delicate weight of the unglazed clay. Such balance of shape and material keeps the eye in motion, a constant exploration of a beautiful form.
This scoop is offered in two size, and two finishes. The longer iteration measures approximately 220mm in length. The shorter, 210mm.
We use this at our studio, and will daily marvel at how lightweight and thin it is.
*Please take note that each scoop can be slightly different in color tone, texture, size, and shape. It is not unusual to have areas of thicker glazing, and or colorations that reflect the different interactions between the mineral content of the clay body and glaze. Each scoop is different, and may not be identical to the photographed item.
Approximate dimensions: 210-220mm length, 10mm thickness・Artist: 王文德
