Stoneware・Shino
A new addition to our collection, the Teapot Tray is composed of an interior pedestal to elevate your teapot above a shallow dish intended to catch excess water. Paired together, it’s a striking presentation that shines a spotlight on your teaware collection. Formed by hand, and brushed with a luminous shino glaze, the center pedestal is incised with subtle characters that reference the Shang Dynasty’s Oracle Bone Script, a precursor to modern Chinese writing systems. Viewed from above, these piece seems to float in the bowl, like a lotus flower on rippled water.
Outer plate dimensions: 170mm diameter, 41mm height.・Inner float dimensions: 78mm diameter, 16mm height.・Artist: 王文德
