Single Teapot Tray
Single Teapot Tray
A striking departure from Wang Wen De’s iconic square and rectangular tea trays, the round Boat Tea Tray is composed of an interior pedestal to elevate your teapot above a shallow dish intended to catch excess water. Paired together, it’s a striking presentation that shines a spotlight on your teaware collection.
Formed by hand, and brushed with a luminous shino glaze, the center pedestal is incised with an abstracted depiction of a falling drop of water, drawn horizontally across the center of the raised dais. Viewed from above, this piece appears to float in the bowl, like a lotus flower on rippled water.
*Please take note that each tray can be slightly different in color tone and texture. It is not unusual to have areas of thicker glazing, and or colorations that reflect the different interactions between the mineral content of the clay body and glaze. Each tray is different, and may not be identical to the photographed item. Each is beautiful.
