Stoneware・Shino glaze・Camellia wood
This diminutive stoneware teapot was hand built by ceramicist Wang Wen De, using a special formulation of clay that creates breathtakingly thin, light pieces. The spout curves coquettishly away from the body, balanced on one end by a hand-carved handle made of camellia wood.
Unlike Wang Wen De’s earlier work, this series was fully hand built rather than turned on a potters wheel. Each pot exhibits the thumb and finger prints of its maker. The individual hand-carved notches are visible on the handle, each an impression left by the artist. Pillow soft shino glaze cover the interior and exterior of the vessel, making it suitable for all tea types. 1 available.
This tea pot is truly as cute as it looks.
*Please take note that each pot can be slightly different in color tone, texture, size, and shape. It is not unusual to have areas of thicker glazing, and or colorations that reflect the different interactions between the mineral content of the clay body and glaze. Each tea pot is different, and may not be identical to the photographed item.
