Five-sided Server, Pear Wood Ash
Five-sided Server, Pear Wood Ash
Stoneware・Matte white glaze
Wang Wen De is a master of visual tension. Throughout his work, soft lines play against geometry, and ethereality pairs with gravity.
In this stoneware serving vessel, thin walls and fine lines are offset by an earthen glaze, mixed with pear wood ash for depth and unpredictability. Fingers of this grey-green glaze run rivulets down the walls of the piece, adding motion to the sharp angles of the clay. This contrast between this delicate craftsmanship and unexpected glaze choice keeps the eye in motion, a constant exploration of a beautiful form.
This server is available in two sizes. The tall server stands at approximately 90mm, the short server stands at approximately 83mm.
*Please take note that each pot can be slightly different in color tone, texture, size, and shape. It is not unusual to have areas of thicker glazing, and or colorations that reflect the different interactions between the mineral content of the clay body and glaze. Each tea pot is different, and may not be identical to the photographed item.
