Collection: Qiu Qing Yun

Qiu Qing Yun lives and works in Meinong, a small township in southern Taiwan. He has a quarter century of experience in ceramics, and has worked with wood-firing for nearly two decades. The simple elegance of his work belies his depth of experience manipulating earth and fire.

Qing Yun’s pieces are not glazed. They depend on the natural mineral content of the clay and the transformative effects of wood-firing to yield beautiful and unexpected results. Each piece in this collection is wood-fired for a minimum of 5 days. Each piece displays a mastery of material and firing technique.
