His Teabowl
His Teabowl
Glazed porcelain・Hand-thrown
A simple, classic vessel allows unfurling tea leaves and plumes of aromatic steam to take center stage. With an intrinsic understanding of tea drinking, Lin Ming Ci’s designs are expertly crafted to highlight the sensory aspects of this storied ritual.
Thrown from bone-white porcelain clay, with a translucent glaze, the soft curve of the bowl is a seamless extension of the hand.
From a small series of pots by a husband and wife pottery studio near in Miaoli, Taiwan. While the collective work of this couple has distinct through lines, there are nonetheless small subtleties that speak to each of the artist’s unique hand. It’s in this attention to detail, from both the maker and the user of each vessel, that the beauty and artistry of hand-crafted pottery is illuminated.
About Tea Bowls
In Taiwan, tea bowls are often used to drink loose leaf tea. It's quite simple and works wonders on most of our teas.
Simply warm a tea bowl, add tea leaves, and add water. We suggest using 1 to 2 grams less tea than our normal recommended dosage. Fill the bowl 2/3 of the way to the top. Pour a steady stream of water over the leaves to help them settle to the bottom. Steep until leaves have just opened. Sip, and add more water if necessary.

Drinking tea from a bowl is both casual and elegant. We find it a very personal and comforting experience.
Usage and care: This bowl feature a thin, interior liner glaze and are suitable for use with all tea types. Simply rinse between uses or hand-wash with mild detergent.
