About this experience
Each weekend we invite guests to sit with us at our Communal Table and drink tea.
Our guided tasting will take you through a flight of three teas from the Song Collection. Tea is an ongoing education, and together we will discuss everything from terroir, cultivar, and seasonality to craftsmanship and tasting notes. This is a wonderful opportunity to join the dialog and taste new teas.
We're located at 2120 Sutter Street in San Francisco. Parking can be tricky in our neighborhood. Please bear this in mind and plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before the scheduled tasting.
If you are taking public transportation, we are easy walking distance from Muni lines 2, 3, 22, 24 and 38. Maps of San Francisco Muni can be found on their website.
Common QuestionsWhy did you switch to pre-paid reservations from a drop-in system?
The Song Tea & Ceramics shop is quite intimate, and we have guests who visit from all over the world. In order to accommodate everyone to the best of our abilities, we’ve adopted a reservation system to eliminate wait times and smooth the transition between tastings.
How much is a tasting?
$10 per person.
What is your Cancellation Policy?
You can cancel or reschedule your tasting up to 24hrs in advance. Reservations cannot be cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the start time.
What time is the tasting?
Tastings take place every hour, on the hour from 11 till closing, Saturdays, and Sundays. 11am, 12pm, 1pm, etc.
What does my ticket include?
Each tasting lasts 30-45 minutes and includes a tasting of three of our teas.
Can we choose the tea ourselves?
Our tea tastings are communal events. Please let us know what tea you are interested in trying and we will devise a flight that has something for everyone.
I’m going to be late, can you wait for me?
We begin each tasting promptly. We recommend that all of our guests arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled tasting. We will release your place 10 minutes after your reserved time at which point we will not issue a refund.
Are there seats available on a drop-in basis?
Weekday tastings are available on a drop-in basis. There may be unreserved seats available on a weekend tasting, however, we suggest reserving your seat ahead of time.
