Glazed stoneware・Wood-fired

From Liao Guo Hua’s personal archive come sixteen masterful teapots that together chart the breadth and variation of two decades of atmospheric firings in the artist’s remote wood kiln.

Rusted oranges, reds, and black created an ombre sweep across this pot like, the walls of Richard Serra labyrinth. Soft curves reinforce this notion of bent steel, where light and shadow create an art work all of their own, across the surface of the piece. Iron-rich grog mixed into the clay body rises to the surface, expressing in a tactile constellation. A tightly fitting lid, glazed interior, and honeycombed filter beneath the spout allow for quick, clean pouring.

With use, oils from tea will create a deepened color and luster on this pot's glazed surface. Signed by the artist.

Usage and care: This teapot is suit able for use with all tea types. Simply rinse between uses, or hand-wash without soap or detergent.

Approximate dimensions: 85mm tall, 75mm diameter, 205ml・Artist: 廖國華
